Friends,

I am proud to be your Governor. I am honored that the people of our great state have chosen me to lead Washington through the most challenging times since the Great Depression.

During my first term, we took on some big challenges and got amazing results: creating jobs, providing health care for kids, cracking down on sex offenders, establishing a constitutionally-protected Rainy Day Fund and tackling tough transportation problems.

The challenges we now face are unprecedented and recovery won’t happen overnight. But I am confident that, working together with courage and a sense of community, we can meet these challenges.

My immediate priorities are passing a responsible budget while protecting children and the most vulnerable, protecting and creating jobs, and making much-needed reforms to state government. When this economic crisis ends, Washington must be better positioned for the future.

Please join me in meeting this challenge. I need your ideas, your vision and your energy. Now, more than ever, we must reach out to our neighbors and stand together as a community, as One Washington.

Thank you.
